MY ROLE
As a Senior Visual Designer at Shopkick (2022-2023), I managed various design responsibilities, such as creating key art, developing emails and social media assets, designing in-app banners and icons, crafting design systems, lookbooks, and designing landing pages. These projects often involved illustration and animation work, alongside continuous refinement of the brand.
Working closely with a team of project and account managers, I also designed for major brands and retailers partnered with Shopkick, ensuring brand consistency throughout.
Additionally, I contributed to refining visual design elements within the Shopkick app, collaborating with the product team to enhance the overall user experience.
SELECTED PROJECTS
Partner in-app campaigns
Below are a selection of in-app banners/campaigns I designed for some of Shopkick's partner brands. These campaigns were often complemented by email and social media counterparts. The examples below provided me with the opportunity to exercise a bit more creativity, as they were not always constrained by strict brand guidelines.
Key art, social, and animations
A significant aspect of my role involved designing key art, prominently featured in emails, social media posts, icons, and various digital assets within the app. This often included creating playful illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and developing animations using Photoshop or After Effects, all while maintaining alignment with Shopkick's brand guidelines.
Holiday design system
Using Adobe Illustrator, I created a holiday-inspired design system to enhance our "Holiday Kick Me Up" program, a collaborative effort between Shopkick and its partners. This initiative aimed to provide holiday assistance and relief to Shopkick's vast community of shoppers, 78% of whom expressed concerns about inflation impacting their holiday shopping plans.
The design system supported all creative aspects of our "Holiday Kick Me Up" campaigns, whether they were in-house or partner-related. Ultimately, the program was highly successful, drawing in numerous new partners, exceeding Shopkick's revenue targets, and assisting shoppers in need.

Emails
Once key art was established for a campaign, the next step typically involved designing an email. While the majority of these emails were promotional, often highlighting various ways to earn rewards through Shopkick's "kicks", we also developed quiz-style emails. These interactive emails provided users with the opportunity to engage more deeply with a product.
